Under 10 Mixed

Folkestone Optimist U9s played in their first ever tournament on Sunday at Canterbury Hockey Club.  They played 8 x 10 minute games against teams from Canterbury, Tunbridge Wells, Herne Bay and Marden with 2 wins, 2 draws and 4 defeats.  Harvey Little and Cieran Payne did not stop running all morning and worked hard for each other and scored all of the team goals between them (Harvey 3, Cieran 2).  Ben Rumsey aged 6 playing in his first game for Folkestone was outstanding in defence together with Laurel Fry (also 6) who stopped 2 goals on the line.  Sydney Jenner showed strength in her tackles in mid field with Edward Aylward and Sophie Coombe making some positive runs out of defence.  Well done to the youngest FOHC team!
