Folkestone 2nd Vs Gore Court
A lacklustre performance from Folkestone led to a disappointing defeat in a
game where neither team deserved anything.
The game started in bizarre fashion with Gore Court only due to field seven
players as a car full of their squad had got lost en route! Folkestone failed
to break down the under strength squad and eventually the rest of the Gore
Court team arrived.
Folkestone had the better of the first half chances but couldn’t find the killer
touch in the last third.
In the second half Ops’ structure fell apart and a degree if ill discipline crept
in, resulting in one or two ugly moments when tempers flared.
Folkestone’s best chance came from man of the match Jamie Miller-Hastings
who’s dazzling run down the left wing set up a shot on goal for Ben Allon who
squeezed his shot agonisingly wide.
Gore Court however maintained their pressure and were rewarded, with the
help of their umpire, with a goal. Despite two counts of third party obstruction,
the umpire allowed the goal and gifted his team the win.
