Folkestone’s Ladies 1st XI got off to a good start with fantastic runs from Lucy Anderson and Vic Carney, resulting in Janet Fadagio scoring the first goal. Folkestone gained a number of breakaway chances in the second half with excellent passing between player of the match Jo Bryen and Ashley Mainwaring, allowing Janet Fadagio to make a run down the left side and the ball being passed across for Ashley Hills to score the second goal for the Optimists. Brilliant defending from the Folkestone side and superb saves from keeper Lin Cronin prevented Blackheath from scoring from 14 short corners. However, Blackheath managed to score from a short corner on the final whistle. Good team performance.
