Folkestone ladies 2s, sponsored by Wilson Sinclair Joinery, welcomed
Dartford to Cheriton Road on Saturday. It was a physical encounter with
both sides having strong periods of possession. The midfield trio of Liu
Batchelor, Sian Reddick and Ashleigh Tutt linked well and provided a series
of penetrating balls for the forward line but the Dartford defence held strong.
When Dartford did attack, the defensive partnership of Janna Courtney and
Claire McGee held out, with both making a series of well timed tackles and
interceptions. As the game entered its final stages, both teams had chances
to score with the Folkestone forwards coming close at one end and keeper
Amy Bumstead making a series of strong clearances at the other but neither
side could break the deadlock.
