Folkestone 4th XI 4
Brom/Beccs 5th XI 2

A strong performance against high flying Bromley gave Folkestone the 3 points at the
Academy. Folkestone went one up early in the game when Deryl Gilham Jones converted
a short corner. He was `sin binned’ shortly afterwards leaving Folkestone with 10 players
for 10 minutes. Folkestone’s midfield played superbly during this period with Stu Merrington
controlling the play and Ben Shaw and Eliot Gilham Jones working hard to counteract the
pace of the young Bromlley side. During this period Warwick Wait scored a second for
Folkestone via a fortunate deflection from a defender. Bromley pulled one back on the stroke
of half time from a Penalty corner after 10 minutes of dominant play where Adam Luckham,
Dave Brazier and Matt Whitehead were busy at the back. James Thomas, Rich Davie and
Nathan Ingleston were again superb and created chances. Both sides hit the post before
Deryl Gilham scored his second. Bromley came back again to score before Eliot Gilham
Jones was also yellow carded after an unfortunate tangle. Dad Deryl took this as a sign to
complete his hat trick, secure the 3 points. and then order the customary hat trick jug of beer!
