This was a great defensive performance against a team who had beaten Folkestone
7-1 earlier in the season. Man of the match was goalkeeper Boots Stephens who
was outstanding and full backs Dave Brazier and James Whybrow were equally
impressive. Despite hard work all round especialy the midfield of Rich Davie, Eliot
Gilham Jones, Nathan Inglestone and Jamie Miller Hastings Marden had the better
of the first half and Folkestone were fortunate to be level at half time. The second
half saw a different approach and chances came Folkestones way. A well worked
short corner routine betwen Steve Shaw and Deryl Gilham Jones resulted in a goal
for Shaw. The second also came from a short corner routine but this time finished off
clinically by Dean Woolnough. Folkestone are now on a roll and have reached the
dizzy heights of 4th in Kent Premier C.
