Ladies 1st XI v Sevenoaks (L) Saturday 30th November

December 2, 2019

The ladies 1s looked to continue their home form against a strong Sevenoaks side. Right from push back, Ops attacked aggressively and with pace, putting pressure on the Sevenoaks defence. They moved the ball around well and created some chances. They were unable to capitalise however and Sevenoaks came back, creating good chances of their own. Ops GK Helen was more than up to the challenge and made some key saves to keep the score line 0-0 at half time.

Ops were playing well and working hard for each other and knew that they really could get something out of this match. For the duration of the second half, they controlled the game, attacking from all sides and earning scoring opportunities. Some create left wing play resulted in Eve playing a ball across the face of the goal which Claire managed to get over the line with her snazzy candy cane stick 🎄! This gave Ops the confidence they needed to know they could win the game. After some great team play, Eve managed to get herself on the scoresheet too taking the score to 2-0! Despite Sevenoaks coming close, Ops saw the game out for another convincing home win. 💪
