Ladies 1st XI v Tunbridge Wells (L) Saturday 29th February

March 1, 2020

After a 2 week break, Ops ladies 1s hoped to continue their ever growing streak at home to Tunbridge Wells.

From first push back, Ops presses high and dominated play. They were tenacious against an experienced Wells side and their close ball skills allowed them to get out of trouble calmly and create some brilliant counter attacks. After 15 mins of deadlock, Ops broke through, after the ball hit a body on the line for a penalty stroke. Erin stepped up and flicked the ball home. Ops continued to play great hockey, leading from the front. Within another 10 mins, they were 3-0 through two brilliant team goals, calmly and cooly finished by Liv.

After half time, Ops wanted more of the same. Their confidence was growing and they continued to attack with finesse. Everyone played their part in the performance and Liv certainly had her shooting boots on, as she bagged herself another 2 goals and a jug for the team! The game finished 5-0 and Ops were delighted with their performance after a fortnight break. They now sit 5th in the league and are eyeing up 4th placed Havering, who they play away next week.
