Ladies 2nd XI v Gore Court

February 10, 2019

The ladies 2s welcomed Gore Court on Saturday, eager to get back to the winning ways they had before Christmas but knowing that it was going to be a tough game.  Ops started well and dominated for the first 10 minutes and their good forward movement when Emma Coley’s ball through was picked up by Emily Clapham who took on their lone defender and coolly finished past the keeper.  Gore Court came back hard and found an equaliser near the end of the first half.  Ops went into the second half looking to get back in front but it was Gore Court that took hold of their game with Ops struggling to cope with their aggressive style of play and despite several excellent saves from keeper Amy Bumstead were able to edge ahead through a short corner.  Ops battled to find an equaliser Adrienne Rowe holding the middle and releasing Bea Allison but Ops were unable to come up with an equaliser.
