Ladies 3rd XI v Burnt Ash Saturday 16th September

September 18, 2017
Folkestone  V’s  Burnt Ash
First game of the season for the Ladies 3’s with a few nerves flying around!
Op’s had first push back and went out very strong from the start.
Quick passes and good communication led to Folkestone having lots of possession on the ball.
Some great runs from Cydne Smith and Emma Coley out on the wings, which led to Folkestone’s first goal that was flicked into the back of the net by forward Julie Griffin.
This gave Folkestone the confidence and determination to continue with their hard work.
Folkestone was awarded a short corner where Janet Fuller smashed the ball from the top of the D into goal giving us a 2-0 lead.
2nd half and although players were tired everyone continued to work hard.
Michelle Phillips scored the 3rd goal after a great pass from Eva Waitt into the D.
With just 5 minutes left and a 3-0 lead, the ball was passed into the D and deflected from the goal keeper several times before it was finally picked up by Smith who swept it up on reverse stick into the top of the net giving Folkestone a cracking 4-0 win. Player of the match Emma Coley
