Ladies 3rd XI v Kings Alleyns (L) Saturday 7th March

March 9, 2020

A late away game for the ladies this week and against a youthful opposition.
Folkestone went straight in from the first whistle. Everyone was working hard and setting the press quickly. Good defending and some great attacking saw Folkestone feeding the ball forward. A few shots on goal but Folkestone were unlucky not to score. Gill Steer picked the ball up in defence and passed it to Suzy Hill in the middle, Hill made a pass to Chantelle Duncan who found Vicky Bates, Bates made a cracking pass to Freya Bailey who was unmarked in the D and Bailey made a lovely sweep passed the keeper! It was probably the best team goal of the season.
It wasn’t long after that the opposition equalised which was frustrating. Kings Alleyne scored again just before half time. The second half Folkestone fought hard but unfortunately the opposition secured another goal finishing in a 3-1 loss for the girls this week. Although we lost it was a good team performance.
